When it comes to your bridal beauty prep, no look is quite complete without your statement brows. We’re counting down to your big day in terms of beautiful brows with tips from eyebrow guru, Shavata.

Bridal beauty eyebrows

Firstly, look at your brows: are they a bit too skinny for your liking? Would you like to grow them out? It’s better to do this sooner rather than later as you need to see a brow therapist to make a “brow plan” in the 3-6 months leading up to your wedding, especially if you plan on letting them grow out a bit.

“I recommend leaving them to grow for 6-8 weeks – or as long as you can bear,” says Shavata. “Tweeze stray hairs every day, fill in gaps using brow shadow or brow pencil and start 2mm from the start of the brow to create a natural look that is wearable every day.” The cycle of hair growth is around 8-13 weeks so have patience, it might take some more time to grow out eyebrows that have been over plucked in the past.

During the 3-6 month run up once your brows are grown out, visit your brow therapist every 4-6 weeks to maintain them. We know it’s tempting but at this point, “it is vital that you do not pluck any stray hairs” between appointments according to Shavata, to avoid over plucking again when it’s too late to regrow. These appointments will also give you a chance to trial tinting.

Finally, see your therapist the week before your wedding for final touch-ups and tinting. That way, there shouldn’t be any stray hairs for you to pluck on the day of your wedding. “Eyes are the most important feature on your face so having them perfectly framed with beautiful brows only makes sense!”

Shavata has had 25 years in the beauty industry and is the go-to guru in all things brows. Her brow studio is located in Harvey Nichols in Dundrum.
