Julie Vino is easily one of the top Israel-based designers in the bridal world, who is known for providing brides with an edgier and more vivacious take on modern wedding gowns. This female powerhouse designer spent most of her early career days outside college interning across major bridal names from Canada to Israel, before setting up her own bridal wear line in Tel Aviv. What with her plunging necklines and slim-fitted, adoring silhouettes, the shape and structure of her gowns provide for a very sensual, confident bride. Her gowns are full of such intricate and ornate detailing that both the guests and the bride herself could spend a century staring at the dress. She knows how to flatter and enhance the female figure to create a perfect balance of sensuality and ceremony.
In her Fall/Winter 2015 collection, entitled "Province," she created dresses that boasted the most sought after designs brides are looking for this year, from plunging necklines to backless illusion gowns and detailing with intricate lace. Priding herself on staying on the top of leading fashion trends season after season, Julie, incorporates current trends to create instant timeless classics. And if the dresses weren’t enough to have you instantly in love, then the location in which the collection was shot in surely will. This season Julie had her brides pose in the enchanting Chateau De Robernier, a fairy-tale worthy castle near Cotignac, in Provence. Both the romantic backdrop and the stunning dresses gave us a collection that was inspiring and beautiful.
One distinct fashion feature of hers which we love seeing year after year is her masterful creation of the bodice, with plunging necklines and cut out backs, often used on the same dress. Granted, there can be a slight risk when so much skin on the upper half of the body is exposed, but the delicate placement and structure of her lace and the effortless way she makes it contour the body gives it an air of elegance and drama. These dresses are masterfully structured, with perfectly balanced corsets that give the bride a vivid flair while remaining sophisticated.
Another slightly fresher and more feminine design feature in this season was the introduction of frills and gathered chiffon. What with her signature style being tight and form-fitting, this time Julie decided to inject some more carefree and light designs into the wedding dress. It was either off-shoulder gathered sleeves that added feminine dimensions, or it was batwing sleeves that flared out full of embroidery and embellishment. One particular gown included both of these features, with a strapless, sweetheart bodice in light chiffon and illusion lace with sleeves that draped out just below the arms in billowing fabric. It had a plain silk skirt and trail and a dramatic scoop back. The balance between such a light and romantic bodice full of airless beauty and a skirt that created emphasis on the figure made for a dramatic wedding dress straight from our dreams.
One of the more breath-taking parts of her gowns were the dramatic and awe-inspiring trail skirts. When paired with her highly detailed and intricate bodices, these skirts brought a whole new meaning to the word cathedral gown. The long and dramatic skirts, sometimes in layers of tulle or scalloped lace and others with a single fabric fishtail, were the icing on the cake of the wedding dress bliss that Julie provides. We particularly loved the dresses that were paired with these long trails with long sleeves, giving the dress a huge sense of emphasis and occasion. The truth stands that this season, if a slim-fitted dramatic silhouette dress is the style you want to get married in, then Julie Vino will be your only port of call.
