For her debut Demi Couture collection, Hermione de Paula, renowned for her botanic hand embroideries, looked to the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging, Kadō. Starting with a group of her most evocative and enduring silhouettes, the Demi Couture concept is founded on an idea of individual composition, allowing the bride to create something incredibly personal and especially unique.
Featuring finely pleated hand-painted organza, delicately embroidered tulle in voluminous skirts with hand-gathered stack petticoats and large circle skirts, soft crepes, intricate embellishment and hand-cut floral applique, mermaid trains and plunging necklines, each gown is considered Art Couture as it was designed. New volume silhouettes layer over slim-fit colourful column dresses and removable dramatic overskirts are styled over party minis. Removable sleeves, overskirts and veils offer myriad looks based on a key embroidery. Each gown can be personalised with a special date, initial, or sentimental symbolic message and is handmade to order. In Kadō tradition, every flower communicates a special message. It is this language of symbolism which lies at the core of Hermione de Paula and a collection celebrating artistic expression of the heart and mind.
