For its latest bridal collection, Marchesa has moved away from traditionally wide, A-line organza ball gowns, and focused more on the bride’s figure.
Without the big skirts, they’re not lacking any grandeur, with Marchesa instead opting for 3D floral appliqués and delicate Chantilly lace designs.
One of our favourites is definitely this gown with a deep plunging neckline. The slender silhouette would accentuate any bride’s figure, while the cape-like sleeves give a gentle nod of modesty. The lace and floral appliqués adorn this dress from head to toe, making it a work of art.
Another stunning gown with more defined floral designs is this almost blush coloured gown, with big floral appliqués covering the bodice and thinning out down the skirt. The unique illusion sleeves appear to end at the shoulders, but for the flowers that continue down the arm.
While Marchesa didn’t opt for grand ball gown skirts, the elite design house didn’t shy away from grand designs that command attention. This strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline is just one example of a more splendid design, with dramatic ruffles lining the layered tulle skirt and intricate designs on the bodice.
Another magnificent dress, which brings in the best of both a slim, figure-hugging silhouette and a skirt of splendour is this stunning gown. Elaborate detailing covers the dress from head to toe while the dress boasts wings of luxurious organza from the waist down.
One of Marchesa’s more unusual gowns from the spring 2017 collection surprisingly comes from one of its more traditional bridal silhouettes. This A-line peach gown has numerous designs throughout without looking too busy. The ripples of organza across the bodice give the dress a prom effect, especially with the delicate off-the-shoulder sleeves. Meanwhile, below the waist is an explosion of movement and texture, with ruffles, large floral appliqués and contrasting ivory shades.
Whether you’re opting for an off-white gown, complex and beautiful detailing, or a delicate balance of traditional and modern, Marchesa has a selection of stunning designs in the spring 2017 collection.
