We love all shapes and sizes of wedding cakes, but if you're getting a bit tired of the same three-tier towers at every wedding, you can always go a bit different. It is your wedding after all, and there are plenty of alternative cakes you can choose from, especially if you want to let your imagination run wild. What's your favourite dessert? Would you have a tower of pancakes? Macaroons? Cupcakes? Having multiple components to a dessert tower means you can play around with design, style and colour, depending on how your wedding would be styled.
You can even take it back to your childhood nostalgia and have a Rice Krispie cake, an Oreo tower, or even just a chocolate fountain. The choice is yours and we love the options that are there for brides who don't want a traditional cake. One of our favourite things about a lot of these alternative cakes is how easy it is to divide them up for your guests to enjoy, with many of them being made up of individual pieces.
We also love the original alternative cakes as much as the new ones. There's a lot to be said for cupcake towers and macaroon towers as much as there is for Oreos, pancakes or doughnuts. Whatever you decide, give it the attention it deserves, and put it in the centre of your dessert table or somewhere that your guests can see. What's the point of having a visually stunning cake if no one is able to see it? And don't forget, if you want something totally different but still want the occasion of cutting the cake, you can always have a small cake to cut as well.
