As we mentioned last week, we love sparkly ideas for weddings so this week, our 10 wedding ideas are for a golden theme. Adding gold to your colour scheme will give your wedding a certain element of richness and luxury. If you’re looking for a touch of Gatsby glamour, then gold is definitely the way to go. What’s more, is golden looks lavish and expensive without having to break the bank.
Golden tones also brings a warmth to any room, with tones of yellow or rose beneath the sparkle, perfect for Irish weddings. Adding gold place settings, table numbers and chair décor to the room will give your wedding the glamorous feel it deserves, while still making it feel warm and luxurious.
It’s not just your reception room that you can deck out in rich tones. You and your bridesmaids can get in on the glamorous colour scheme too. Champagne and golden shades of bridal gowns are becoming more popular every season, and as always, if you’re sticking with a more traditional shade for yourself, you can still have your bridesmaids don fabulous gold and glitzy gowns on the day. You can even give yourself gold accessories and a gold bouquet if you want the glitz up your traditional, white gown. Who doesn’t love a pair of glittery shoes poking out under that stunning wedding dress?
If you don’t want too much overkill with the golden look, balance it out with a softer colour. Gold goes with a lot of colours, particularly pastel colours, like teal blue and blush pink. Our personal favourite colour combo is mint and gold. The possibilities are endless when you opt for a gorgeous affair.
