You don’t have to leave your favourite pooch behind on your special day. If they’re particularly boisterous, you might want to proceed with caution – and keep them away from the cake! But for the most part, including your wedding, even if it’s just the ceremony, can be a wonderful moment – especially if they’ve been a special part of your lives for years. Once you decide to bring your dog to your wedding, there are plenty of cute accessories and full outfits you can give them to make them a real part of the wedding. They can’t be the only ones not dressed for the occasion, right?

Flower wreath

This is a simple and gorgeous way to give your dog a little part of wedding décor that won’t be hugely annoying for them because it’s just like a collar. Get your florist to make a wreath of flowers that match your bouquet for your dog to wear.

Sign

Why not use your dog to announce your entrance? If you’re having an outdoor ceremony, your dog could walk up the aisle ahead of you (if he’s well-behaved) with a sign around his neck that ways here comes the bride, prompting your guests to rise to their feet.

Ring pillow

Another job you can trust your dog with is ‘ring bearer.’ There are plenty of pouches, pillows and ties you can give your dog to safely and securely fasten the rings to. Then it’s just a matter of getting him to come up to you when you need them most!

Formalwear

Tuxedo

If your dog doesn’t mind wearing outfits, they can be a member of the bridal party in their own little tuxedo. There are plenty of options for dogs of all sizes and it will make for some extremely cute photographs.

Tie

If a tuxedo is a bit of an ask for your fidgety puppy, you could stick to a simple bow tie. They’re cute, subtle, and similar enough to a collar so they won’t be bothered by it. You can even get one to match your groomsmen so he’s definitely part of the bridal party.

Jewelled collar

For bitches, they can’t just have a bow tie. They need a bit of frosting to go with the bride and bridesmaids. Dress your dog up in a jewel-encrusted collar to make them feel special and well-dressed on this very special occasion.

Floral dog leash

If your dog can’t be trusted to wander down the aisle on his own, or they just can’t sit still without a leash, don’t miss the opportunity to make the leash pretty. Dress your dog’s leash up in wedding flowers to make it nice.
