We all love a bit of bling, particularly at our wedding when we need a bit of extra glitz and glam. But there’s a fine line between adding a bit of sparkle and going a bit OTT, which can look a bit tacky. Don’t worry, we’re here to help you toe the line (and stay well and truly inside it).
Fashion
Who says you’re dress can’t sparkle? There are plenty of gorgeous alternative bridal dress with sparkling bodices or a whole gown that dazzles Gatsby-style. If you’re don’t want your whole dress to sparkle, add bling to your outfit in the form of your accessories, and that includes shoes hair clips and even nails, not to mention your makeup can always come with a bit of sparkle and shine. Metallic eyes are really hot this season. And don’t forget about your gorgeous bridesmaids; they need a bit of bling too.
Reception
Your reception can sparkle like a glamourous fifties cocktail party if you want it to. Add plenty of gold coloured décor to give it an extra retro glam; silver doesn’t give quite the same glittery effect. Add candles to your table décor too. The candlelight will really make the glitter sparkle. Don’t forget about your wedding cake! The metallic cake trend isn’t going anywhere and a gold metallic cake or even just a bit of glitter will really add bling to your wedding reception.
Bling details
We know at weddings, it’s all about the little details, the personal touches and the small add-ons. Your bling wedding doesn’t have to stop at fashion and your overall reception. Think of all the elements of your wedding. Your invitations, your place cards and your programmes can all make a bling statement to your guests. You can even glam up your Champagne bottles or give your guests sparkly cupcakes as wedding favours.
Don't forget the send-off
A bling wedding is already very glamorous but don't forget to incorporate some glitter and sparkle into the most glitzy parts: the glitter and sparkler part! Swap out your standard wedding confetti for glitter to create a sparkly explosion of bling. And who could forget about adding some sparklers into your celebration for a truly glittering affair. Maybe even some fireworks if you have the budget.
