One of the few jobs you might give your groomsmen is to hold onto the wedding cards. It goes without saying, you will get an abundance of wedding cards on the day, and yet the last thing you need to have responsibility for is a whole load of wedding cards with a significant amount of money, but that doesn't necessarily mean you want your groomsmen or even your bridesmaids to be in charge of keeping them all together without a little help. And that's where these quirky wedding details come into play.
As time moves on, less guests are bringing presents to an actual wedding, and instead opting for money in a card. This is great for couples, especially if they already live together, since the days of registering for items to fill your new home are long gone. Most couples want and need money a lot more than a blender or a kettle and while we think it's still important that you register for gifts, you should also prepare yourself for the onslaught of cash-filled envelopes.
Put someone in charge of taking the cards but then make sure you have somewhere safe to store them without having to make constant trips upstairs to your room. We love the idea of bird cages to hold your envelopes. They're the perfect safe box, while still looking like a beautiful part of the décor.
If you're looking for something a little more than a simple box to house your envelopes but you're not into the idea of a vintage birdcage, how about a vintage suitcase? A suitcase is perfect to house all the wedding cards and it can then be closed and brought up to the room in one trip. Alternatively, opt for a vintage-style post box. What better way to store your envelopes than in an actual post box? We love it.
