With so many details to get right on your wedding day, some might fall by the wayside a bit in favour of what you think is more important. The perfect dress, the right food, the ideal venue all take time and care to choose, and often the only detail we might think of when choosing a photographer is: get one.
But there are a lot of things to consider when picking your wedding photographer. After all, when it's all over, the pictures are what is left to immortalise the day.
The first thing you must consider is the price and what you get. Some will offer just the prints, some include an album and some will also include a CD with all the pictures. These extras might not be included in the package so check if you can buy them separately.
Don't forget, the photographer owns the copyright to their own photographs. While many photographers are happy to give you a non-commercial licence to reprint the digital pictures for friends and family, make sure you read the fine print.
Decide what style of photography you want on the day. Do you want a lot of model-style shots directed by the photographer or would you rather a more laid back, 'capture the natural moments' approach? It's important to discuss this with your photographer and go with one who shows a strong background in the style you want.
Make sure you choose a photographer you feel comfortable with. They are a person you will end up seeing or being with a lot on your special day and you want to be happy and comfortable with the person as well as confident that they know exactly what you want.
