While we love our weekly Instagram wedding stalks (research) equally, we have to admit that we did enjoy this one just that little bit more. This week we decided to focus less on the mainstream bridal trends and go for something with more character and beauty - tattooed brides. What’s not to love about admiring confident and creative women who are not afraid to show off their body art on their big day? We've already taken a look into the romantic act of getting your ring fingers tattooed, but this time we're focusing just on the brides and their own body art. Granted that quite a few years ago a woman donning tattoos would raise quite the few eyebrows and hushed discussions, we’re grateful we no longer live in such a world. It’s no secret how increasingly popular female tattoos are becoming, especially with the surge of metallic wash-off temporary tattoos and the endless options of artwork that tattoo parlours now offer. Women everywhere are being celebrated for their brave and beautiful tattoos, and their wedding day is no exception.
After all, what better way to truly be yourself and bare all in front of your friends and family than by highlighting and showing off your tattoos? They may be pieces you’ve had gathered over years and years of travels and experiences, or they could be pieces that you’ve just introduced recently in celebration of your marriage and love story. They’re your very own pieces of personal expression, and there is no reason that they should be hidden away on your wedding day. These days there’s so much more admiration and encouragement for a bride to get her tattoos out, there’s even companies who will tailor-make specific temporary tattoos so that the whole bridal party can join in on the fun. From fully adorned sleeves and shoulder silhouettes to dainty ankle symbols and scrolling quotes, tattooed brides can be a beautiful sight. Take a look at some of our favourite, stunning tattooed brides from Instagram. Who says ink and white lace doesn’t go together? #Instainspo.
