As 2015 comes to a close, we're already looking ahead to the wedding trends of 2016 and we're starting with stationery. With the help of Daintree Paper, we've looked at the top five stationery trends for the coming year.
All that glitters
2016 heralds the lighter side to weddings, brides and grooms are no longer afraid to show off their fun side. We expect to see this throughout the planning process, from a glittering flirty Ines de Santo gown to a flash of old gold glitz on your invitation. With Daintree’s sexy Spruce Gold and silver invitation, you can take your sparkling desires to the next level. On Spruce Silver, we have added a little extra with a fabulous heart monogram.
Grey is the new black
You won’t look washed out if you embrace black's cool sister in 2016. From deep charcoal to a pale smoky grey, Grey is showing up in all the right places. It’s elegant enough to appease your darker side, without hearing the dreaded “is it a funeral invite?” from your mother. Stick with grey for cool elegance, or throw caution to the wind and add a splash of blush or lemon to bring a little summer into your stationery. Daintree’s new Spruce Grey is just the right side of dark to appeal to any of our 2016 brides.
Forty shades of green
Finally, a trend that suits every Irish skin tone, (coral can be so unkind to rua cailíns everywhere). Green is making itself known this 2016, from the rustic hunter greens to the sexy olive, which makes everyone look good. Mint and sage will set off your spring/summer wedding and olive or hunter green will bring you right through to winter. Make your friends green with envy, with our gorgeous Birch Olive invitation. Remember, you can add other colours that will complement your shade of green.
Love letters
There is an element of romance and excitement to this practical trend. Tying your invites and information cards together like a little bundle of love letters is a 2016 trend we see that will keep going. Pop an adorable little tag on the front and let your guests open this like the gift it is. If you want to build the excitement for your big day, what better way than sending out a little surprise like our Ginkgo Bundle invitation, use organza, use lace, use twine but keep it tied!
Keep it simple
Another trend we can take from 2016 bridal fashion is “less is more”. The focus on quality, rather than quantity. The Caroline Herrara line for spring/Summer shows us that the focus should be on quality materials. Choose elegant and understated by focusing on a heavy weight card and envelopes that just feel impressive to the touch. A liner can be added to create a bit of a luxury element. A perfect example would be our new Larch Floral invitation, which focuses on classic style and highest quality materials.
