We are insanely in love with pastels for weddings. No matter what time of year it is, there is always a pastel colour scheme to suit the season. We also love the ombre trend that's been hitting weddings across the world for the last few years. Throw pastels together with ombre and you've got the gorgeous new watercolour trend that's taking over weddings, primarily stationery, and we have to say, we are in love.

Watercolour table

Like we said, stationery is one of the of main wedding details to showcase the watercolour trend in the form of a splash of watercolour pastel across a blank piece of paper with calligraphy detailing your wedding date and plans. The watercolour designs can be anything from an artistic stained background, to a detailed painted design. We also love the dip-dye effect on the place cards.

Speaking of dip-dye, have you thought about adding the watercolour look to your gown? We're not talking about actually dipping your beautifully lavish wedding dress in a tin of paint. But we love the beautiful effect of a dip-dye gown. If you're opting for a blue tint, it could be your something blue. We all remember the stunning dip dyed wedding dress Gwen Stefani sported back in 2002. Don't forget about  your bridesmaids. If you don't want to opt for the dip dye look, there is a soft watercolour pattern you can adopt for your bridesmaids.

When we think of pastel colours and ombre tones, how could we forget about the 'too good to eat' cake. The pastel colours are gorgeously delicious looking and perfect to match your watercolour theme. You can mix colours, or stick to one shade. When you're thinking of treats, you don't just have to style your cake. We're obsessed with these watercolour marshmallows. All you need is some neon food colouring and a paintbrush.

Don't leave out the rest of the details. Add some bright neon and pastel decorations. Add colourful centrepieces to your tables and plenty of flowers. We also love these little watercolour candles as wedding favours. They're perfect if you're feeling crafty for your special day.
