If you’ve chosen the winter months as the ideal time to host your wedding, we have some fantastic favour ideas to warm up your wedding guests!
Hot chocolate
One of the positive things about the winter weather rolling in is having the excuse to knock back a hot chocolate to warm up. Treat your guests to a hot chocolate stick or hot chocolate makings in a jar, a classic pick for winter.
Christmas baubles
Struggling to come up with a winter-themed way to guide guests to their seats? Why not use baubles as a place card holder? This way, your table settings will be visually appealing, fit in with the theme and guests can take the baubles home at the end of the night to place on their Christmas tree.
Winter warmers
Provide some winter warmth such as gloves or a hot water bottle for guests, especially if there is a firework display at your wedding reception. Your friends and family can not only use these favours that night, but throughout the winter months also.
Pine cones
Pine cone favours are not only cost effective, but they fit in perfectly with a winter wedding theme. Dip the pine cones in beeswax and guests can use this as a fire starter at home, as beeswax encourages the flames to ignite. Place in a kitsch bag as a table setting.
Soap
All that dancing into the small hours of the morning at the wedding reception will leave your guests yearning to freshen up a little. Keeping this in mind, provide guests with some eye-catching snowflake shaped soap…almost too pretty to use.
Warm tipple
This one is most certainly for the adults of the group. A small bottle of brandy by each place mat will keep guests warm and merry. If you’re more of a New Year’s Eve bride, mini champagne bottles dipped in gold glitter will prove to be an eye-catching, glamorous touch to your special event. Be sure to check with your venue before you buy these favours as some have a policy on alcohol favours.
Sweet treats
You can never disappoint with a wintery sweet treat. Festive gingerbread men wrapped up for each guest are a simple touch, or if you’re feeling more inventive, create some candy pops at home. Use white chocolate to create the illusion of snow and roll the balls in sugar crystals before the chocolate dries.
Lip balm
Winter may bring some fabulous fashion choices and Christmas time our way, but it also means some seriously chapped lips. To ensure your guests beat this, provide personalised lip balms for them to take home as a keepsake of the day.
Treat-filled mug
Buy a cup for each guest and adorn each one with their initial to add that personal touch. Finally, fill with seasonal treats such as candy canes for your friends and family to enjoy.
Santa bags
Inject some mischievous fun into your winter wedding day by playing the inviting in the red suit for an evening. Assign guests with ‘naughty’ or ‘nice’ bags with chocolate ‘coal’ for the naughty guests and some of your favourite treats for your ‘nice’ guests.
