Set on a 550-acre estate of manicured lawns, meandering waterways, and rustic woods in the heart of Co Kildare, The K Club is one of Ireland's more revered wedding venues. With a history dating all the way back to 1215, it's no wonder this was the venue for Lilly Harnett and Katty Rasteh's wedding on the 12th of August 2023. The pair met the old-fashioned way, on a dating site!
Given that she owns and runs Luxe Proposals, it was only fitting that Lilly planned a big surprise proposal! "I wanted it to be truly unforgettable, and I’m thrilled with how it all turned out. The proposal was a spectacular moment, perfectly set up to lead into our special day. It was an incredible experience that made the entire journey even more meaningful."
Being two brides, it only made sense that the couple chose their wedding dresses together. "We went to many boutiques together, and during our final appointment, we both tried on our dresses simultaneously and had an instant connection with them. It was clear that these were the dresses we had been waiting for." Despite the broad difference in silhouettes, Lilly and Katty matched their dresses with white floral appliques; with Lilly wearing a nude illusion fit-and-flare gown from Essence of Australia and Katty walking down the aisle in an off-the-shoulder tulle ballgown from Prive Bridal.
The day began with a forecast of rain, and Lilly was hesitant to move the ceremony indoors from their originally planned outdoor setting. "The venue manager was exceptionally accommodating and assured us that they could set up indoors if necessary. Fortunately, Mother Nature was kind, and the rain stopped just in time." The sun came out, gracing the brides with perfect weather for the outdoor ceremony, making it an absolutely beautiful and memorable experience.
From the very beginning of their wedding planning, the K Club was at the top of their list. Despite exploring a plethora of the best venues Ireland has the offer, the couple had fallen in love with the K Club and were certain it was the perfect fit for them. "By a wonderful coincidence, August 12th, a date that holds special significance as it marks our first date, was available for our wedding. It felt like everything fell into place, making the K Club not just a beautiful venue but also a meaningful choice for our celebration."

For entertainment, Lilly planned a special surprise for Katty, to pay homage to her heritage, with a unique Persian-Irish performance. "I chose one of her favourite Persian singers, and we had Irish dancers perform to the music. It was a beautiful fusion of cultures and a truly memorable highlight of the celebration." After the Persian-Irish performance, the entertainment continued with jazz music played by Bobby Mc and his band. "Their lively music and engaging performance kept the celebration going, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for everyone."
Regarding the best decision, Lilly had to say, "Choosing the K Club as the venue!"

With all the excitement and activities, it was easy to get caught up in the moment and miss out on enjoying the delicious food. (I swear this is not a paid partnership with the K Club lol I’m just a huge fan of the K Club they truly are the best!)"
